I married John on Sept 19 2025. Here was my vow to him, unofficially titled “aeterna amantes” (lovers forever):
The day we met was cold and grey and dreary, but we were all smiles. It was our first date and I had no idea how things would go, but I did know I wanted to spend more time with you. And look at us now!
John, you are my favorite person and I feel incredibly lucky to have met you. You are a deeply principled and sincere man, with an incredible knack for witty jokes. Your warmth towards everyone around you, your resilience in the face of setbacks large and small, your dedication to finding positivity on even the darkest days has only deepened my love for you.
From the beginning, our relationship was founded in mutual respect and kindness. We’ve been as honest as two people can be, even when it’s awkward and especially when it’s hard. We’ve been generous with our time, our compliments, our kisses, our laughs, our smiles. When hard times came, we knew that we could lean on each other for support, and things would be okay.
I vow to continue this for all my days. To always treat you with the honor and love you truly deserve, no matter what life throws at us.
